A little About Me
Hello and Welcome to my artist website! My name is Matthew Durbin and I am an Artist, Entrepreneur, and dog rescuer. This website contains various bodies of my artwork over the last decade!
The first reason, was to sell my artwork (obviously) but artwork that meant something to someone. I have found over the years that the best memories are created with people or by people. Whether that person directly effects you or some how touches you in a different way, people, as much as I differ from them, I love them. My paintings have evolved into portraits of people that I see have made an impact on the world, and in a positive way. These people ultimately have effect my life is some way, whether its how I see something or someone different, a culture, food, music, clothing, whatever it may be. I want the memory of these people and the positive effect that they had on people to live on, in my portraits.
The second very important reason, is because my ultimately goal in this life, is to save up enough money to buy a ranch property here in Illinois, and start a dog sanctuary. I rescued my 2 beautiful and amazing Pitbull brothers almost 4 years ago and have been fostering for over a year for rescue dogs. At the end of the day, that is what I am working towards, a dog sanctuary.
